Clearer, drier weather following from the Atlantic later in the day or overnight. Winds veering southwest, and probably easing. Turning a bit colder. Perhaps some frost in sheltered areas by dawn.
Generally brighter on Friday, with sunshine and scattered heavy showers. However, some longer spells of rain are possible again, mainly in the east and south.
Saturday/Sunday
Bright and sunny at times, but occasional heavy or thundery showers for most parts also. Winds between south and west, blustery at times, but easing off at other times. Highs seven to 11 degrees Celsius.
Colder at night with a risk of frost, depending on wind and cloud conditions.
Outlook Monday to Wednesday
Cold and mainly dry at first, winds easing off. Sharp night frost possible. More rain eventually spreading from the Atlantic; it may become a good deal milder too as this happens.
