I’m reliably informed that there is an impending shortage of bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodation in Co Roscommon – and I’m not talking about a getaway for me and Mrs The Dealer.

The much-publicised 700-acre Roscommon farm which is looking for new (ideally) dairy tenants is causing some displacement.

The sheds on the Roscommon farm were used by a lot of beef farmers for winter accommodation.

With the owners looking for a single tenant, there are as many as 20 farmers now on the lookout for new sheds for their cattle this winter.

High prices are being offered and demanded. A butterfly effect, Roscommon-style.
