Andrew Doyle is to retain his position as Minister of State for Food, Forestry and Horticulture in Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s government.

The Wicklow/East Carlow TD has been in the position since 2016.

Minister of State Doyle has held a number of agriculture briefs during his time in the Dáil, including being Fine Gael’s deputy spokesperson on agriculture with special responsibility for food and horticulture from 2007.

In 2010, he was promoted to the opposition frontbench as the spokesperson for agriculture and in 2011 he was appointed chairman of the agriculture committee.

A sixth-generation farmer, he keeps sucklers, sheep and some forestry at home in Roundwood, Co Wicklow.
