Picking up the female Angus championship at Charleville Agricultural show was Dr Michael Sheahan with Luddenmore Ellen Erica P225. This September 2014 heifer was sired by AI bull Friarstown Ideal Pete and was already placed first in class last week at the All-Irelands held at Cork show.

Adding to the Sheehan triumph, her mother Luddenmore Ellen Erica K094 was tapped up as reserve female champion. Dam to the champion this four year old is sired by Rawburn Rommel and out of imported dam Elliot Erica. The female champion furthered her success later in the day clinching Reserve Overall calf champion of the show.

In the Angus male section it was Albert & Jennifer DeCogan who took top honours with stock bull Wedderlie Black Box. No stranger to the show ring having picked up numerous championships already this year, this five year old is sired by Abberton Mr Bionic. Standing reserve to him Judge Ben Ryall tapped Matthew Goulding’s September born Goulding Lead Man forward. Abberton was again in the back breeding of this bull, with Abberton Eminem as the sire and dam being Goulding Perry 355.

Continuing the success into the Hereford ring Matthew Goulding went on to claim both the Female and Male Championships. Picking up the male championship was Goulding Easy Peezy. This September 2014 bull is sired by Dendor Unicorn and out of Moeskaer April. In the female section it was junior cow Goulding Duchess 548 who caught the judge’s eye. This three year old was shown with calf at foot and is sired by Hidalso.

The Limousin ring seen its Champion Roundhill E-Girofiee go on to take Overall Champion of the show as well. Bred by Doreen and Timothy Corridan this six year old cow was by Mas Du Clo and shown with her February bull calf at foot who also won his class on the day. Reserve female champion in the Limousin ring went to Donal Moloneys senior heifer Ardnacrusha Hayley. Sired by Wilodge Vantastic this September 2012 heifer is out of dam Etole.

Ballybrown Holly continued winning ways from Cork last week for breeder Bobby O’Connell in the Charolais ring. This two year old embryo heifer is sired by Bobino 71 and out of Luddenmore Candi Tara.

In the Simmental ring female champion went to Raceview Classic Tryona. Bred by Peter and Marion O’Connell this three year old is sired by homebred Raceview Nigel and was shown with calf at foot. The male side of the Simmentals seen yearling bull Dripsey Freddie take top spot. Sired by Dripsey Sir Graduite this one was shown by William & Jenny Cotter.
