The Conservative party can now pass legislation, including Brexit-related bills, in the UK parliament after securing the backing of the Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland.

The deal was signed by Conservative chief whip Gavin Williamson and the DUP’s Jeffrey Donaldson. The leaders of both parties, Theresa May and Arlene Foster were also present. The deal is reported to include £1bn of financial support for Northern Ireland over two years.

Meanwhile, the deadline for a deal on a Norther Irish government is this Thursday and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Coveney is in Belfast to meet with the parties involved.
