Fertiliser prices have eased by £10/t to £20/t since mid-April. Several merchants report steady sales and an increase in the number of farmers looking to purchase nitrogen for second-cut silage.

Prices for straight nitrogen have fallen by as much as £20/t on last month, with several merchants selling product at £195/t to £200/t. Other options such as Sulpha-CAN are trading around £5/t higher than straight CAN prices.

Compound fertilisers such as 24-6-12 have seen less of a price reduction, trading around the £270/t to £280/t mark. Some merchants with older stocks are quoting £285/t.

Other prices

Other products such as 20-10-10 are moving at prices of £262/t to £265/t, down from £275/t to £280/t last month. Grazing and silage products such as 25-5-5 are at £250/t to £255/t, down from £270/t in early April.
