Last week’s sale at Enniskillen Mart saw an entry of over 1,000 cattle. In the bullock ring, prices were said to be fairly strong. Light-weight bullocks sold from £2.00/kg to £2.31/kg. Farmer demand for medium-weight bullocks was solid also and prices ranged mainly from £1.90/kg to £2.26/kg for good-quality types. Heavy lots were met with strong feeder and finisher activity. Prices ranged from £1.85/kg to £2.13/kg for those.

In the heifer ring, prices ranged mainly from £1.90/kg to £2.04/kg for forward types, while medium-weight heifers sold from £1.82/kg to £2.27/kg.

Weanling steers and bulls sold from £650 to £1,005, while heifers made from £520 to £890. Suckler cows made from £1,120 to £1,820, with top-quality and young cows fetching from £1,380 upwards.

Fat cows were said to be firm and sold from £0.95/kg to £1.69/kg, with fleshed types making from £1.45/kg to £1.70/kg. The calf sale saw prices of £245 to £335.
