A further 1,117t of SMP was offered into public intervention for the week ending 10 September, the latest figures from the EU’s Milk Market Observatory (MMO) show.

Six member states put powder into the measure in the latest round of offers. Ireland has not yet lodged any SMP this year to it.

Denmark (400t), Lithuania (335t) and Belgium (162t) offered the highest quantities. They were followed by France, Latvia and Poland respectively.

To date this year, 11,160t of SMP has been lodged into intervention. Member states began offering greater quantities of SMP to the measure in the last week of August.

In the weeks since then, 735t, 1,325t and now 1,117t have been offered to the measure.
