Johnny McEvoy returns to the stages of Ireland for a new nationwide tour. Followers of the legendary folk and country singer can see Johnny perform at the Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge, tonight, 23 October, and at The Mill Theatre in Dundrum, Dublin, on Friday 24 October. Johnny is in concert at 14 other venues throughout the month of November.

Eamonn Jackson from Redhills in Cavan will launch his new country band at a gala night in The Bailie Hotel, Baileborough, on 26 October. His late grandfather, Paddy Mulvaney, was a well-known singer in the Cavan region in former times. Eamonn is also launching his debut single, The Girl I Love Now Lives in Birmingham, composed by Henry McMahon of The Mainliners.

Julian’s of Midfield, Co Mayo, should have a full house for a four-hour dance show on 25 October. Nathan Carter and his band play the venue, while Mick Flavin and his band are on stage at 10pm.

Noreen Ashe will launch her new CD in The Earl of Desmond Hotel, Tralee, on 31 October. The album was produced by Eddie Lee. PJ Murrihy, Eddie Lee and James Kelleher, Mike Condon, and Johnny Ashe and Southern Pride will join Noreen on the night. The dance starts at 9.30pm.

The Rhu Glen Country Club in Slieverue, south Kilkenny, will host a dance with

Michael English and his band on 25 October. Michael launched his last album, Country Roots, at the venue last February.

Barry O’Halloran provides the music for the country dance in Cullen Community Centre, Co Cork, on 25 October. The Cork man has penned a number of his own songs in recent times, including his Larry Cunningham tribute number.
