Greybridge Classic Club members will host their annual harvest day and tractor lineout on Sunday, 10 August, at Meanus, Co Limerick.

Following on from the success of their Massey Ferguson and Ford lineouts over the previous two years, this year the club plans to expand the number of tractor brands, by lining out the word “tractors” with each letter representing a different manufacturer.

So the search is on to locate as many owners of Massey Ferguson, New Holland, John Deere, Zetor, Case, Claas, Deutz, Valtra and derivatives of to participate in the lineout.

Local suppliers for each of these manufacturers have also come on board to support the event by providing sponsorship for their relevant letter.

As usual, in addition to the lineout, there will be lots more happening at the event,

The event will be supported by numerous vintage tractor and car displays, off-road jeep and commercial displays. The club will also be joined on the day by the Blueforce and Friends of Ferguson’s clubs from Ireland and Britain.

Silage cutting

Over the past number of years, the ever-popular silage-cutting display has seen the old harvesters challenge the modern-day machines. This year, the organisers plan to expand this further to see how the current combi round balers will stand up against older classic round balers.

The Greybridge event is run on a voluntary basis. Last year, they donated €26,000 to their selected charities.

This year’s worthy causes include Cliona’s Foundation, which provides financial assistance to families with critically ill children; Pieta House, which helps people who are in suicidal distress; and Limerick Search and Rescue, a voluntary organisation providing emergency assistance.

If you would like to participate in the tractors lineout or any of our other displays on the day, you can contact either John (085-8632200), Declan (087-2568117) or Maurice (087-2473948), all active members of the Greybridge Classic Club.
