Hi Again,
Yesterday evening we drew about 68 of the 170 -180 bales of straw. The contractor didnt finish the silage he was doing until 6.00 so we started around 7.00! We used a new holland 165 and 190 and an O&K loader !Me and my cousin helped with the straps!
The 165 drew about 22 bales stacked 2 high and the 190 drew 46 three high some job!We got to our yard at around 10.30 as it was a long draw! The 190 barely fitted under a bidge along the way!
We got home around 12.00 midnight!
Hi Again
Today me and my dad went to look at the straw bales we are going to haul! We keep all our herd under dry straw bedded sheds so we buy about 170 round bales of straw! The bales were not too wet so tomorow we hopefully will be hauling them(will have a blog on it). But the contractor we usually get is going to be busy cutting silage but he said we are welcome to the bale trailer, so me and maybe my brother if he's not drawing silage will load and draw them with our tractor and the bale trailer pray for good weather!
Hi again,
This morning at 7;30 me and my brother went milking cows for a neighbour because he was away on holidays! The herd was 61 cows !! Its a big change from beef farming as we dont milk twice a day! Sometimes i'd forget and think that there was something wrong with a cow because she's so boney as to beef cows aren't so thin ,but friesion put alll their food into milk! We milked in the evening aswell!!!!!!!!

Hi, Aagain
Today on my way out to look at the cows i found a mother and her bull calf.
The cow is a sim/charo cow and the bull was after HKG.I think she calved around 3 or that because when i looked at her last night her back bones were down and i knew she would have no difficulty calving. The bull had no probem sucking as he had done so already.
The bull calf is one of the first Autunm calves on our farm.- the cow and calf.
Will Have more blogs.

Hi Again,
Grass on most farms including ours makes up most of the feed on the farm, from grass during the grazing months to silage and hay during the winter months. Grass management is very important for farmers wanting to make a profit. - Here are some e.gs-
