Three ladies, Lorraine McDonald, Bernie Heaney and CC Cooper, have come together to form a trio known as The Honky Tonk Angels.

While all three will continue to pursue their own individual careers, they hope to find time to present their own distinctive show around the country in the months ahead. A guest spot on an overseas country promotion is already on the cards.

Lorraine McDonald is a member of The Conquerors and formerly fronted The Showband Show with her brother Keith. Their dad, Frankie, a native of Monaghan who has lived in Athlone for many years, was a long time member of the Joe Dolan Band.

Bernie Heaney lives in Co Kildare and, along with Muriel O’Connor from Limerick, was a joint winner of our Irish Country Sound female singer of the year award back in March.

CC Cooper is based in Dublin but country music is a way of life for her. She has strong family connections with the famous Clipper Carlton Showband from Strabane.

Hush Hush is their catchy debut single. The song was written by Miranda Lambert, Angelina Presley and Ashlee Monroe, better known as the American group The Pistol Annies. It was produced by Wayne Thorose at Ballyrose Studios in Co Roscommon.

The ladies had great fun and laughter both in the studio and on set while filming the video for this song. They look forward to performing at shows around the country.
