Factory agents and butchers have been battling hard for lambs in the marts. Factory-fit lambs weighing 40kg to 45kg are selling for €110 to €118/head, or €70 to €73 over the weight. Higher prices of up to €125/head were paid where competition was strong. Heavier butcher lambs made up to €130/head this week. In the factories, producers are securing €6.00/kg to €6.10/kg including bonus payments.
