Gardaí have arrested and charged a male juvenile in connection with a fire at Oldcastle co-op in Co Meath on Halloween night which caused serious damage to the building before it was brought under control.
Gardaí from Kells and local fire services attended the scene of the fire at the premises at Railway Yard, in Oldcastle shortly before 8pm on Saturday 31 October.
In a statement Gardaí said no injuries were reported although there was extensive damage to the property before it was brought under control by fire service personnel.

A video posted on Twitter by Meath West Sinn Féin TD Johnny Guirke shows the extent of the damage caused.
It's sad to see a local business in flames on Halloween night, many people could lose their jobs and if this was started maliciously which puts our local firemen at risk, I would hope that the Gardai can get to the bottom of this fire. pic.twitter.com/3bWE5u7sON
