Meat Industry Ireland has welcomed the announcement by Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed that he will allocate extra market access resources for the agri-food industry.

The measures will include dedicated veterinary and other expertise to target current markets of interest to Irish food exporters and to ensure that exporters meet the conditions laid down by third countries.

Meat Industry Ireland called for the new initiatives to be put into action immediately.
