Farm safety

A further eight farm safety workshops have been announced by the Rural Development Council (RDC).

These free events are targeted at farmers, farm family members and farm workers and offer practical awareness covering everyday hazards.

On-farm workshops are scheduled for the following dates and each workshop starts at 7pm:

  • Tuesday 28 February: Greyabbey.
  • Wednesday 1 March: Lisburn.
  • Thursday 2 March: Ballycastle.
  • Tuesday 7 March: Castlewellan.
  • Tuesday 14 March: Eglinton.
  • Friday 31 March: Omagh.
  • There are also three off-farm workshops, scheduled as below and also starting at 7pm:

  • Wednesday 8 March: Draperstown.
  • Thursday 30 March: Dromore (Co Down).
  • Thursday 30 March: Tobermore.

    NIFDA awards

    Food and drink companies have until Friday 24 February to submit their entries for the NI Food and Drink Awards, principally sponsored by Ulster Bank and supported by Asda, Lidl, M&S and Tesco.

    The awards offer local companies the chance to showcase their commitment to excellence in front of key industry stakeholders and customers.

    Held biannually, this year the awards ceremony will take place on Friday 24 March at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Shaw’s Bridge, Belfast. For details, visit www.nifdaawards.com/.
