One for the Road is a new album featuring 16 singers and musicians from Co Kildare. The venture was pioneered by Matt Browne with help from Mick Dunne.

“With the passing years I have become increasingly aware of my own mortality,” reflects Matt Browne.

“In spite of all my time in the music business, I never recorded a song. I also realised that many of the people I had the pleasure of working with had also never recorded and so the idea for this album began to take shape in my mind.

“Putting together this album and meeting and working with so many old friends has been a labour of love.

“For many of us, it will be our last opportunity to leave something of our sounds to posterity, hence the title, One for the Road.

“Over their lives the contributing artists have given of their time and talents to countless good causes. This album will continue the good work, with all proceeds going to the Asthma Society of Ireland.”

Those features on the album are Bobby Bolger, Richie Hayden, Barry Cluskey, Paul Flynn, Declan Aungier, Mick Lawlor, Dinny Moran, Peter Gordon, Mick Dunne, Danny Slevin, Jos Gordon, Sean Fleming, Sean Reddy, Pauric Browne, Brian Duffy and Matt Browne.
