The number of bullocks, cows and heifers almost doubled on what was available last week, whether that is down to rain, cash flow issues or the fact that some farms will be down extra help in the next few weeks as schools reopen.

Bullocks

Either way, farmers availed of relatively good prices. Friesian bullocks were back a few cents per kilo on recent weeks, but stock was a bit narrower compared to other recent sales. Overall, they sold from €200 to €450 with their weight. Hereford and Angus cross bullocks made from €350 to €600 while continental bullocks made from €450 to €850 with the euro per kilo.
