Student Placement - Editorial Department - Sept - Dec 2012


Each year, the Irish Farmers Journal offers student placements to Agricultural Science undergraduates as well as students studying Journalism or related courses from agricultural backgrounds.

We are currently recruiting for a newly-introduced placement from 1 Sept - 31 Dec 2012

The chosen student will gain a broad range of experience in the editorial department of the Irish Farmers Journal and Irish Country Living.

Essential requirements are:

  • Agricultural Science undergraduate or
  • Journalism or related course undergraduate with agriculture background
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to generate fresh ideas and work on own initiative
  • A keen interest in farming and rural affairs
Applicants will be short-listed based on a CV and 400 word cover letter. The cover letter should explain in no more than 400 words why you would like to gain work experience in the Irish Farmers Journal and Irish Country Living and why you are a suitable candidate for this opportunity. Following interviews with short-listed applicants, the final candidate will be selected.

The student will be based in our offices in The Irish Farm Centre, Bluebell, Dublin 12.

Placement hours are 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
