Trade remained similar to recent weeks. The drop in weanling numbers was more than compensated for by a rise in the number of bullocks and heifers on offer.

Most Friesian bullocks sold from €159/kg to €1.72/kg. Depending on age, Angus and Herefords sold from €1.75/kg for very forward near finished stock up to €2.07/kg for lighter stock. Continentals made from €2.15/kg to €2.55/kg, with lighter, younger stock at the higher end.

Bullock numbers were up again this week, with 200 on offer.

  • Weanling numbers dropped back compared with last week’s show and sale, but prices remained similar for what was on offer.

  • There were 100 heifers available for sale, with forward store heifers dominating numbers-wise.

  • There were 40 dry cows on offer, with prices staying in line with recent weeks.
