While most large-scale flocks are joining the sheep scheme without a second thought, some with 50 ewes or less are reported to be slower to commit. Each farm is different and will have their own reasons for joining or not joining.

Flock size should not be the sole contributing factor in decisions, and every farmer should give joining the scheme good thought. It is also worth noting that if you decide the scheme is not for you at a later date, you are not tied in for four years and can withdraw at the end of any particular scheme year.
