Singing barman John Horgan, who became an overnight internet sensation, has just released his second single, an original composition entitled Leaving Dear Cork City.

John’s Facebook video of the Jimmy McCartney song, Bright Blue Rose, went viral, clocking up well over half a million views since it was posted last February.

The video was captured on a mobile phone and shows John effortlessly singing one of his favourite songs while serving in The Crossroads Pub, Knockavilla, Co Cork.

John is a member of the Cobh Cathedral Choir, which has about 35 members.

The combined Chamber and Cathedral Choir members have performed in Westminster Cathedral and St George’s Cathedral, London, and at the Vatican in 2009 and 2013.

Leaving Dear Cork City was written by Leo Fitzgerald who operates his own studios. Leo, who is widely known in Munster music circles, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis nine years ago at the age of 28. A percentage from the new single will be donated to MS Ireland.

John is currently working on a 12-track album with Leo and Noreen at Music Row Studios, Ballydesmond, and this will be released in the coming months.

Leaving Dear Cork City is now available on cd and also MP3 downloads from www.musicrowstudios.com and various outlets around the country.
