Last week’s beef kill crept close to 35,000. Most steers and heifers were traded off a €3.70/kg and €3.80/kg base respectively, with a small number of sellers squeezing another 5c/kg into the price,. At the other end, small sellers or cattle out of spec were often trading off a €3.65/kg and €3.75/kg base. U grade bulls are selling from €3.80/kg to €3.85/kg, Rs from €3.70/kg to €3.75/kg and Os €3.50/kg to €3.65/kg. Bulls under 16 months are trading on the grid at a base of €3.70/kg, excluding the 12c/kg QPS in-spec bonus.
