Good Friday

Although it will be a dull start, with scattered showers in the morning, the weather will improve during the afternoon with some bright spells emerging. Winds will be breezy with moderate to fresh northwest winds and temperatures will reach 9 to 11 degrees.

Friday night will be dry with good clear spells developing and temperatures may drop to between 2 and 5 degrees with some frost.

Easter weekend

The Easter weekend will see a big improvement in the weather with high pressure building up over the country. Fresh northerly winds on Holy Saturday will become moderate southeasterly for Easter Sunday.

Easter Sunday and Monday will stay dry with light variable winds as the high pressure remains right over Ireland, although there might be just some patchy drizzle in the west and north. Temperatures are expected to reach as high as 16 degrees.

However, nights will turn a little cooler with lowest temperatures falling to between zero and 5 degrees with some frost.

Tuesday and Wednesday will continue under the influence of the high pressure system with mostly dry and mild weather.
