You can receive the latest weather forecasts by telephone and as a text message to your mobile phone using the Irish Farmers’ Journal AgriWeather service.

The Irish Farmers’ Journal provide an interactive weather service specifically designed to meet the needs of Irish agriculture. That means AGRIweather provides accurate weather forecast information, when you need it, to your telephone mobile phone.

You can choose to Receive either

• Daily or
• Weekly forecasts

 

Provincial weather by phone

The AGRIweather service provides regional weather forecasts updated 3 times per day, 7 days per week on premium rate 1550 telephone numbers for the Republic of Ireland (RoI) and 0906 numbers for Northern Ireland (NI). Calls to 1550 numbers cost €0.95 per minute and calls to 0906 numbers cost £0.60 per minute including VAT.

To listen to a weather report by phone updated 3 times a day, 7 days per week simply:

• Call the 1550 (RoI) or 0906 (NI) number corresponding to the province (area) you require. For example: Calling from the RoI, for the Munster forecast call 1550 933 301
• Calling from NI, for the Ulster forecast call 0906 601 1483

You will hear the relevant weather forecast played out to you. This will include today’s forecast, and the outlook for the next 5 days.

Please note that calling from the RoI, you cannot call or text UK / NI premium rate numbers and callers for UK or NI cannot call or text RoI premium rate numbers.

Provincial Weather forecasts by SMS

You can register with the Irish Farmers’ Journal AGRIweather text service to receive the forecast for your province at 8.30 am each morning, 7 days per week. You can register to receive SMS forecasts for as many provinces as you like.

Each message received cost €0.60/£0.50 including VAT. Network charges may vary.

To receive your updated report on a specific location by TEXT:

• To register, send an SMS text message containing only the keyword corresponding to the province you would like to receive AGRIweather forecasts on to 53307(RoI) or 85100 (NI)
• For example
• Texting from RoI, to receive text forecasts for Leinster, text the keyword LEIN to 53307
• Texting from NI, to receive text forecasts for Ulster, text the keyword ULS to 85100
• Initially you will receive a text welcoming you to the service, and thereafter you will receive your forecast by text once per day at 8.30am.
