A 100ac block of grassland is coming up for auction at Slanestown, Mullingar, Co Westmeath. The location is out the Ballynacarrigy road from Mullingar on the R393 and the land for sale is up the local road to the left, the L5802.

There’s good-quality land on this side of Mullingar with quite a lot of it in tillage. The agents for this farm, DNG Duncan, say that this land is good quality and it benefits from having internal roadways. The farm has about 1km of road frontage on the L5802.

The farming on this side of Mullingar varies from tillage to cattle grazing to forestry.

The property includes an old yard with some stone buildings, no longer in use, and a farmhouse likewise made from cut stone. This old house has not been occupied for over 100 years. However, the roof was repaired some 20 years ago and this has kept the building’s structure intact.

In the yard there is also this old farmhouse made from cut stone. It hasn't been occupied in about 100 years but the structure is intact.

The auction is scheduled for 24 September in The Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar, although this is subject to confirmation.
