The Graham’s herd continued their successful stint at the Red Ladies Derby Show and Sale in Carlisle over the weekend collecting the overall championship and top price. This marks the third successive year the herd has secured the top price, each time going with heifers which go back to the cow Graham’s Coffee. This year's champion came in the form of Graham’s Nicki, an Ampertaine Gigolo daughter out a Claragh Franco cross Coffee dam. Having been tapped out earlier in the day by judge Sarah Priestly, she later went on to secure the top price of 20,000gns selling to the Hartmoor herd.

Securing the reserve championship and in turn the second top price was Procter’s Nellgwyn. Sired by Ampertaine Foreman, this September 2017-born heifer was again acquired by the Hartmoor herd.

Also taking place on the same day was the weaned calf sale of Limousin cattle. This sale was topped with a 16,000gns call for the stylish bull champion Aultside Overdrive. Bred and exhibited by Garry Patterson this sweet calf comes with a wealth of breeding going back to the proven bull Ronnick Hawk while the dam Spittalton Flush bred the 65,000gns high seller back at the February bull sales. The eight month old Overdrive was secured by Ian Handley of the Gunnerfleet herd.
