Quinn Property held a successful online auction last week of a 26ac residential holding at Ballinagilky, Hacketstown, Co Carlow.

The land consisted of 16ac of permanent pasture and 10ac of forestry which is approximately 20 years old.

The property also included a two-storey cottage with two upstairs bedrooms which was built in 1870.

There is also a farmyard with two sheds on the property. It was guided at €250,000.

Seven individuals registered for the auction and three took part on the day. The property opened at €200,000 and was bid on to €270,000 at which point it went on the market.

There were no further offers and the farm was knocked down to the bidder who was a business owner and farmer based in nearby Tinahely.
