We think we have a problem with rustling here, but police in New Zealand are investigating after up to 500 dairy cows were stolen from a farm in the Ashburton area. The cows were in calf and are worth more than $1,000 (€647) each.

Sergeant Scott Banfield from Ashburton said: “It’s unlikely the theft of hundreds of animals could be completed at once, and is more likely that multiple thefts could be carried out over a period of time.”
