65-acre parcel sells after auction

The residential farm, located near Scartaglen, Co Kerry, was withdrawn at €230,000. Private negotiations ensued after the auction, with the parcel eventually sold at a higher price. It is believed that the residential farm was purchased by a local farmer.

The land, which was traditionally a drystock farm, also contains a derelict single-storey farmhouse which may make a suitable site for a replacement home, subject to the appropriate planning permissions being granted.

The lands, which would be suitable as grazing ground or for forestry, were sold with entitlements. The auction was handled by Tom Spillane, Auctioneer in Killarney.

Quality 72 acres in the Golden Vale

Also being offered by Tom Spillane is a 72-acre parcel of top-quality non-residential farmland in Limerick. This holding will go to auction on 27 October. The top-quality land, which is located 1km east of Herbertstown in the heart of the Golden Vale, contains extensive road frontage on to two roads.

The land is laid out in seven manageable divisions and also contains a derelict cut-stone farmhouse and outbuildings.

Keen interest has been shown for this quality holding already, with the property being guided at €10,000/acre.

The property is new to the market and will go under the hammer at the Deebert House Hotel in Kilmallock.
