A 70ac farm with a modern slatted shed and cattle yard is for sale outside Nenagh in Co Tipperary. The farm is at Ballymacegan, Lorrha, and it will be sold by online auction this month by Sherry Fitzgerald Talbot. The guide price is €395,000.

The location is situated 6km from Lorrha village, 11km from Portumna and 18km from Borrisokane.

According to the agents, the farm is made up of 29.2ac of medium- and good-quality grazing and 41.5ac of forestry.

A central roadway provides easy access through the land. Forestry was planted to ash around 2010. It attracts forestry premium payments of €5,000 per year and seven years’ payment remain unclaimed.

The land has some 80m of road frontage. At the rear it fronts on to the River Shannon and the holding comes with a private mooring.

Yard and facilities

The farmyard has a four-bay double-slatted house with centre feed passage, sliding end doors, vented side sheeting and a ventilation canopy on the roof apex. This shed was built approximately eight years ago and is done to Department of Agriculture specification. There is also a large silage slab and cattle handling pens with a chute in the yard.

The online auction takes place on Thursday 18 November at 3pm, unless previously sold. Auctioneer William Talbot says that another 10ac parcel of land is also available from the same owners at a guide price of €100,000. It is medium-quality grazing land.
