There are 865 LFASS applications for the 2016 scheme year waiting to be processed, according to the latest update to the Rural Economy and Connectivity Committee.

It is estimated that 11,272 will be eligible for payments totalling £60m, out of claims from over 12,000 businesses.

Meanwhile, a total of 24 businesses are waiting to be paid their 2016 Basic Payment Scheme monies, valued at €348,000 in total.

Payments of £383.4m have been made to 17,816 businesses.

All payments have been distributed to farmers in the 2016 Scottish Upland Sheep Support Scheme (£6.6m) and the Suckler Beef support scheme (£37.5m).
