This week saw a great variation of properties in terms of price, quality and acreage offered.

Two residential farms auctioned in Tipperary were the highlight of the week.

A lot of small parcels were sold, with a number of poorer-quality land parcels also cracking under the hammer.

One or two properties were withdrawn, with a 10-acre parcel in Roscommon pulled from auction before it even began.

In Monaghan, around 30 acres was sold for €45,000 less than its guide.

A strange mix

Limerick saw an unusual mix of fortunes this week. A mixed-quality 34-acre parcel at Caherconlish went for just €3,000/acre, well below the county's average, while just 10km up the road, a 42-acre holding went for €9,500/acre (€402,000), exceeding its guide by €144,000.

Staying in Limerick, 58 acres in Bruff was withdrawn at €300,000, having received no bids from the floor.

A dairy farmer and an American buyer

Two properties in Leinster were withdrawn from auction. Both were sold afterwards.

The first, a 5.5-acre parcel, was bought by a dairy farmer. The second was a 20-acre residential property bought by an American.

There were a number of receivership sales around the country this week also.
