Abbey Machinery will have what it sees as a versatile slurry application unit, called the Tri-App, a new vacuum tanker and a new sliding raised cross conveyor for the feeder range on display at the FTMTA Farm Machinery Show.

The Tri-App unit combines the three functions of dribble bar, trailing boot and trailing shoe applicators into one 7.5m-wide machine attachment. The galvanised machine can be mounted to a tanker via a fixed mounting frame or by means of a hydraulic mast. It can also be mounted independently to the back of a tractor to run with an umbilical pumping system.

Abbey Machinery says that the mounting system to the tanker has been optimised to reduce the overhang and to minimise the weight of the applicator on the back of a tanker. The Tri-App is engineered to offer lightweight construction with a robust design to give durability and productivity for the end user, according to Owen Cavanagh of Abbey Machinery. It comes with a full LED light fitting. The unit is fitted with 40mm heavy-duty durable hoses with no internal hose restrictions at the joints.

Abbey Machinery claims this design ensures that there are no restrictions to the flow from the Vogelsang Exacut macerator to the ground. The macerator has an auto-reverse system to deal with potential blockages.

Abbey Machinery will also display a new model in the tanker range. Marketing and business development manager Michael O’Grady says: “The new larger tanker will cater for farmers’ increasing requirements. The 2750 puts Abbey in a position to offer customers the complete range of capacity complemented by our existing tanker range, providing more users with much-needed alternatives.”

  • Additional capacity.
  • Longer cylinders with joggled dished end construction and volumes to.
  • Low centre of gravity with increased stability created by integrated axle.
  • Improved comfort, reduced wear and tear with parabolic weight sensing sprung draw bar.
  • Optional: applicator ready bracket is available for modern slurry application methods.
  • Abbey’s is expanding its feeding technology to include a raised conveyor which matches discharge heights in both confined areas and yards with wide central feed areas. Abbey says that this unique conveyor is a versatile solution for high-feeding bunkers (up to 1.5m high), importantly without limiting feeder capacity. This new sliding and raising conveyor puts Abbey in a position to offer customers a wider range of feed-out solutions. The new unit features:

  • A Cross reinforced PVC belt. The belt construction offers a one-piece solution for discharging feed evenly.
  • A single hydraulic cylinder.
  • A unique roller location and conveyor sliding geometry that provide positive belt tension.
  • Dual motors that ensure positive belt drive while raised to the left or right.
