The National Council of Rural Advisers is asking for submissions to its discussion document by 24 July. The consultations is termed “Rural Conversation: Together We Can, Together We Will” and is looking for views on the rural economy from the public. Any conclusions are will influence rural policy from the Scottish Government. Whilst the scope of the paper is the broader rural economy, agriculture is an important component.

The paper is looking at better integration between tourism, forestry, fishing and farming. Plus the paper discusses better transport links, housing, broadband, rural childcare and healthcare. There is also mention of flexible business support for rural enterprises.

The consultation can be found on www.consult.gov.scot with responses needed by 24 July.
