I see there have been a couple of movements in the agriculture and farming world over the past couple of weeks.

John Molyneaux was elected as the Limerick ploughing director by the National Ploughing Association at its AGM in Tullamore, Co Offaly.

Molyneaux, who runs a dairy farm in Drumcollogher, takes over from Maurice McEnery. McEnery was also awarded the NPA life membership for his work in the Ploughing. Elsewhere, I see Cara Sheridan has been appointed technical adviser for MSD animal health. A graduate of UCD veterinary school, Sheridan will be looking after the farms of Munster – a far cry from the plains of Meath where she grew up.
