Shares in Greencore, formally Irish sugar, slumped by 33% this week to £1.20 – a four-year low for shares in the group.

The dramatic decline in the share price came as Greencore issued a profit warning in its latest trading update. Almost £460m was wiped off the value of the company in a week.

Greencore shares have tumbled almost 50% in the last 12 months, as markets continue to question its business strategy, particularly in the US.

Closer to home, shares in FBD rallied a further 5% early in the week to €12.95. However, prices have come back to €12.50 during trade on Thursday and Friday.

Shares in Kerry Group, Glanbia, Aryzta and Origin Enterprises were all down between 1% and 2% in the week.
