Carlow-based Tanco launched its linkage mounted Q series square and round bale wrappers at Agritechnica.

The Q series now allows for wrapping of all bales sizes, including 120cm x 70cm bales, thanks to new adjustable rollers. The new models are set to replace current 1500 series machines.

The only difference between the Q200v and Q300v is that the Q200v has two film dispensers and the Q300v fitted with three film dispensers. Aside from the new series name, there are a number of updates made to the square and round bale wrappers.

Motors are now mounted at the end of each roller.

New features include the addition of the firm’s telescopic cut and start system adapted from the 1400v series trailed wrapper. Auto start allows for a fully automated wrapping sequence, including loading, wrapping and unloading bales all with the press of a button. Level sensors inside the rollers determine the square bale position, thereby speeding up or slowing down the application of wrap for long and short sides of the bales. Proportional hydraulics make this possible.

The Q300v is fitted with three film dispensers.

The adjustable rollers accommodate varying bale sizes.

Rollers are 200mm longer, with the drive motors now mounted at each end. Wrapping arms are directly driven using Tanco’s proven gear system. The Q series weighs 100kg more than its predecessor although bales are now closer to the headstock or linkage system than before.
