Alstrong is known for its soil and grass rejuvenation equipment. After the success of its trailed Auctus machine, the company has decided to design and manufacture a mounted model.

The new Auctus M (M standing for mounted) weighs in at 2.5t and can carry an additional 700kg of water ballast if required. Alstrong opted to use a Doyle pneumatic seeder, which can be supplied with or without GPS seed metering.

The two front rows of paddles are hydraulically adjustable. The main drum hosts 60 aeration blades, helping to aerate the soil.

Even distribution

There are eight rear splash plates on the machine, allowing for an even distribution of seed across its three-metre working width.

Finally, there are two rows of heavy duty harrow tines which are also hydraulically adjustable from the cab.

The Auctus is designed to be versatile, capable of working in cultivated soil, burnt off leys or it can be used to stitch in and rejuvenate grassland.

Although the Auctus M is officially being launched at this year’s FTMTA Farm Machinery Show, there have been a number of units working in the UK for the past number of months with positive feedback.
