With summer in the air, there is still a chance to catch “The Bee Loud Glade”, an exhibition of paintings by Katrine Geoghegan at Kilcock Art Gallery.

The show aims to spread the word about the decline in the bee population and to educate everybody from school children to gardeners and farmers about native Irish plants that are so beloved by bees.

Kathrine is not a botanical artist in the scientific sense, but tries to capture the essence of these native plants in their natural environment – in a meadow, wheat field or canal bank. She paints the form and colour with a feeling of emotion; a bee’s-eye view if you will. For more information, visit www.kilcockartgallery.ie
