The sale included bulls from the Irish Hereford breed society, the Munster Aberdeen Angus breeders club and the Cork Holstein Friesian club.

Hitting the top trade in the Angus ring at €3,400 was Inchisine Nial from Denis O’Riordan, Macroom, Co Cork. This September 2016-born bull was out of stock bull Cooldaniel Jane while the dam was homebred Inchisine Hanna.

Matching him at the €3,400 price tag in the Friesian ring was John O’Callaghan’s Mountfarna Reliant. Judged champion in the pre-sale show, this January 2017-born bull had a number of bidders on board before reaching the final mark. Sire behind the champion was Longview Reliable while dam is Mountfarna Eight Ruth EX90.
