Last week, Irish Farmers Journal representatives were in attendance at six sales over three days in five different counties.

This weekend, we will be covering three different sales in three different counties.

Charolais at Tullamore

First up is the Irish Charolais Cattle Society sale in Tullamore on Saturday.

Over 100 bulls are catalogued for the sale, with the breed performing very well at the recent Carrick sales and indeed the society’s premier.

Adam Woods will be reporting from here, with the show starting at 9.30am and the sale at 12.30pm.

Mullingar Angus

Up to Mullingar and Shane Murphy will be in attendance at the annual Gigginstown Angus sale.

The sale will feature 25 bulls and 20 females and takes place on Michael O’Leary’s Fennor Farm.

Wexford Holsteins

Finally, on to the dairy side and also on Saturday all roads lead to Co Wexford for the Ballyboy Holsteins dispersal sale.

This sale incorporates the entire milking herd and all young stock from the highly respected dairy herd.

The herd has had numerous success in both the show ring and through herd competitions.

Over 100 lots will go under the hammer, with Una Sinnott reporting for the Journal's pedigree team.
