Sheep farmer Tom Barry told the Irish Farmers Journal that animals were stolen from hill fields on his farm near Clogheen, Co Tipperary in mid-September.

Checks so far have revealed 19 sheep are missing. "They are Texel cross and Scotch Blackface, between one and a half and three years old," he said.

This is a new blow after a previous theft of sheep from the farm several years ago. "They were never found," Tom said.

Anyone with information about the missing sheep can contact Cahir Garda Station on 052 744 5630.
