More than 50 years have rolled by since the day a young Art Supple was farming with his father, Maurice, a few miles outside Youghal. The man who has stood on many stages all over Ireland, the UK and further afield can still recall clearly the day that changed his life in 1963.

“I was with my father in the field harvesting broccoli when this car pulled up on the road and two men got out. One of them shouted in: ‘Hello, Mr Supple’, and my father answered: ‘Over here.’ They both smiled and one of them said: ‘It’s the young fellow we want to talk to.’
