The Irish Racehorse Experience at the Irish National Stud & Gardens has won a major award in the themed entertainment industry.

The Kildare attraction won a ‘Thea’ award from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), which recognises excellence in the themed attraction industry on an international level. The Irish Racehorse Experience won in the category for ‘Excellence on a Limited Budget’, which recognises excellence in experiences created for less than $5 million.

The announcement was made at the International Association Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA) Conference in Orlando. Previous ‘Thea’ award winners include Universal Studios and Disney attractions in Florida as well as Jameson Distillery in Dublin and the Titanic experience in Belfast.

The award coincides with record visitor numbers at the Irish National Stud, with over 145,000 visitors in 2022. It offers an immersive and interactive journey through the history of horse racing and thoroughbred racehorse.
