Fancy trying something a little different this New Year? Then come along to Tracey’s Irish Farmhouse Kitchen by the Shores of Strangford Lough, Co Antrim, and learn to bake local Irish breads that our ancestors are famous for.

Join Tracey in her thatched barn, and participate in the traditional Irish bread making class on 11 January. You will be greeted with a hot cup of tea or coffee, to diminish the winter chills before getting down to the business of baking.

The session will begin with a traditional Irish fruit soda cake, a sweet treat, which is delicious with lots of home-made Irish butter. You will also make potato bread and a delicious tray bake, and when the baking is complete the feast will begin!

While the day has to come to an end, the baking does not need to. You will take home a bag filled with your handmade breads to share with the family, along with a copy of the recipes that were used during the baking session. CL

Vouchers are available to buy for the traditional Irish bread-making class (£45), for more information see www.nifoodtours.com or call Tracey on 077 1148 4850.
