Milk supply for March 2019 looks likely to be up by around 12% compared to March 2018 depending on the processor. Remember the snow and cold weather really reduced March 2018 milk supplies, especially in the east and south. From our survey this week, Arrabawn estimates March 2019 will be up 15%, Lakeland up 15%, Lisavaird up 20%, Centenary Thurles up 18%, Dairygold up 11.5%, Aurivo up 8%, Bandon up 6%, Barryroe up 15%, and Drinagh up 5%. The only processor to record a lower volume is Kerry, which estimates it will be down 1.8% on the same period last year. Glanbia figures were not available but are likely to be 15% up on March 2018. Last year, the CSO estimated March milk supply at 614m litres, so a 12% increase on that would be an extra 74m litres.
