A level yellow blight warning has been issued for Carlow, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, and Wexford.

Met Éireann has said that weather conditions conductive to the spread of potato blight will occur in Munster and south Leinster on Saturday and Sunday, 3 and 4 July.

There will be good opportunities for spraying up to and including Thursday away from showers.

The warning will come into effect from noon Saturday until midnight Sunday.
