Farmer Business Developments, which has roots going back to the original FBD co-op and remains the largest shareholder in FBD Insurance, held its AGM in Dublin today.

In a number of board changes, Eddie Downey, former IFA president, has been nominated by IFA onto the board of Farmer Business Developments. Two other IFA board nominations (Kevin Kiersey and Diarmuid Lally) have both stepped down having served four years. Eddie Downey had appointed both of these members four years ago.

Two other IFA nominations sit on the board – John Bryan and Barry Donnelly. This now gives the IFA three seats on the board, down from four, in line with the agreed reduction in the overall size of the board.
