The Dealer was sorry to hear that Malachy McCloskey, founder and executive director of Boyne Valley Group recently died after a short illness.

It would be hard to get around any supermarket and reach the checkout without one of the many brands he owned – brands such as Don Carlos olive oil, Killeen cleaning products, Erin and Gateau and Irish Breeze to name but a few. The proud Louth man started his business bottling honey in 1960 with just three employees. Today it employs over 200 people in the county, as well as trading with 30 countries around the world.
